Bernard C. Thornton's Obituary
Bernard Cladius Thornton known to family and friends as Bernie went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, March 1, 2012. He was born on June 5, 1958 in Leesburg, Virginia to Mr. Bernard Allen Thornton and the late Mrs. Josephine Thornton. He was baptized by Rev. James Summers on July 8, 1967 at Watson Baptist Church in Leesburg, Virginia.
Bernie was a kind, loving, caring and devoted father and will always be remembered by everyone who knew him. He was always available to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or anyone who was in need. Bernie had a sweet and kind disposition with a quiet spirit.
With many beautiful memories, he is survived by two loving children, a son Mr. Bernard Cladius Thornton Jr. and a daughter, Ms. Kalori Valentine, father, Mr. Bernard Allen Thornton, Step-mother, Dr. Dianne Thornton, sister, Ms. Gloria Thornton Neal (Robert), half-sister, Mrs. Judy Thornton Brown, half-brother, Mr. Stevie Thornton, Grandmother, Mrs. Evelyn Moton, grandchildren, Brieah Thornton, Emily Thornton, Laylah Thornton, his best friend Ms. Sylvetta Valentine and a host of aunts, nieces, cousins, uncles, and friends. In addition to his mother who preceded him in death, were two siblings, Mr. Wayne Thornton and Mrs. Bernardine Clark Thornton.
The funeral will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012, 11:00 am at First Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 216 Loudoun Street, SW, Leesburg, VA. The viewing will be from 9:00 - 11:00. The burial will be at Watson Baptist Church, Redhill Road, Leesburg, Virginia. The repass will be proceeding after in Watson.
