Berta Bender Robinson's Obituary
Berta Robinson, age 93, of Ashburn Virginia passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday August 7, 2016.
Berta was born in Roth, Germany on August 1, 1923. Berta was married to Robert Robinson on October 6th 1951 and they were married for 65 years.
Berta worked as a bookkeeper for several years in post-World War II Germany where she met Robert; the love of her life. Berta enjoyed needle point, arts and crafts, and her beautiful grandchildren. Berta was actively involved in the Woodberry Garden Club of Maryland. She also loved spending her summers on the Maryland Eastern shore crabbing and fishing with her children and grandchildren.
Berta is survived by her spouse of 65 years Robert Robinson, her grandchildren; Julia Robinson-Guy, Laura Keys (Adam), Jacqueline Robinson-Brock (Mike), Rachel Robison, Danielle Harpine (Chris), Christina Mergens and Matthew Mergens. Her Sister Lidi Renner, and her children Michael Robinson (Inga), Stephen Robinson (Lisa), and Joanne Mergens (Steve)
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from10-11am at St. Theresa Catholic Church 21371 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA and a funeral mass will begin at 11am.
Graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Reverend John Richard Robinson (nephew) will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Northern Virginia. The family of Berta Robinson wishes to thank the nurses and other caregivers who have shown their love, care, and kindness to Berta during her long illness and final days.
