Bertha LeJeune McCracken's Obituary
Bertha Lejeune McCracken, 84, of Ashburn, VA passed away peacefully on May 4, 2011 at the home with her family by her side. Mrs. McCracken was born September 30, 1926 in Washington, DC to the late Charles and Grace Payne Schmackel. Her husband of 50 years also predeceased her, MSGT Earl L. McCracken, USA Ret. Mrs. McCracken resided in several places around Northern VA over the years and only recently moved to Ashburn with a grandson. She will be remembered as a very giving, caring and loving woman.
Mrs. McCracken is survived by her beloved son: Wilson S. Gregory, Jr. (Paula) two grandsons: John W. Powell (Annissa), Christopher J. Gregory (Mary); four grandchildren: Cindy, Tyler, Brittany, Joshua and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday June 22nd 2011 from 9:30- 11:30am at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr., S.E. in Leesburg, VA. The visitation will be followed by a procession to Arlington National Cemetery for a 1:00 graveside service.
