Beth Chisman's Obituary
Lila Elizabeth “Beth” Chisman, born in Hampton on February 8, 1949, died after a brief illness on August 2, 2012, in Purcellville, Virginia. She was the most amazing, loving, generous, vibrant and spirited mother, sister, grandmother, daughter, friend, and nurse.
Beth is survived by her much-adored three daughters, Amy Iliffe and her husband Eric; Kimberly Emery; and Sarah Emery and her partner Mary Strong; as well as her most cherished grandchildren, Benjamin and Madelyn Iliffe and her beloved dog Dodger. She is also survived by her mother Polly Chisman; brother Tommy Chisman and his wife June; and sisters Pamela Martin and Anne Chisman Abraham and her husband Warren.
As a labor and delivery nurse at Fair Oaks Hospital, she was passionately devoted to her patients. Her sense of humor and love for those under her care made being around her a blessing and an inspiration. Beth was truly an angel, whose sense of adventure, energy, and joy for living was beautifully contagious. She is at peace, and happily reunited with her father and brother-in-law.
There will be a celebration of Beth’s life with a memorial service at St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 12 noon.
