Bette Jane Scheller's Obituary
Bette J. Scheller, 81, formerly of Camp Springs, MD and Pompano Beach, FL died peacefully at Sunrise of Leesburg on Friday January 14th, 2011 with her family at her bedside. Bette was born on March 31, 1929 in Danville, OH to the late Morton and Ruth (McLaughlin)Peterson. She was raised in Danville and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1946. She worked at Gentile Air Force Station in Dayton, OH where she met her future husband. They married in Indiana and traveled to California settling in Torrance where their 4 children were born. They relocated to the Washington DC area in 1965 and retired to Pompano Beach, FL in 1987. In April 2010, they moved to Leesburg.
Mrs. Scheller is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harold of Leesburg; four children: Jane (Jack) Flis of Baldwinville, MA, Randy (Liz) of Fairfield, CT, Ron of Perry Hall, MD and Lisa (Allen) Seifert of Leesburg; four sisters: Jean Pagel of Sarasota, FL, Helen Barber of Oveida, FL, Doris Locker of Kettering, OH and Marilyn Sims of Albany, GA; one brother, Tuck Peterson of Florida; nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Jenna, and Jeffrey Flis, Benjamin, Thomas, Erin, and Anne Scheller, Daniel and Emily Seifert; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE in Leesburg on Friday January 21st from 2 – 4 pm. A time of remembrance will begin at 3pm with Reverend Cary Johnson officiating.
