Betty Marie Dailey's Obituary
Betty Marie Dailey
A gentle Spirit was lifted into the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 8, 2018; her work on earth completed. Betty Marie Himes Dailey born September 17, 1928 in Middletown, MD. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Sadie Himes and her late beloved husband, Donald Dailey.
Survived by her daughter Dianne Raynor (Douglas); beloved mother to her late sons, Roy and Kent Dailey, grandson, Stephen (Corban); granddaughter, Jenna, sister, Evelyn Smith and many nieces and nephews. She served the many children at Catoctin Elementary where she worked in the school’s cafeteria for 22 years. Betty was active in the Leesburg United Methodist Women’s group as well as church. Her family remembers her best for her love of tending flowers, cooking treats to share with others, the simple pleasure of watching clouds roll by, pure joy when it came to her two grandchildren, an unwavering faith and strength during life’s trials, her gentleness and always her unconditional love. A very special thank you for every staff member at Heritage Hall. They truly loved Mama (and my Dad). I never left to go back to North Carolina each week worried about her care. You are family. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 10:30am to 11am at Leesburg United Methodist Church 107 West Market Street, Leesburg, VA where a service will be held at 11am and interment to follow at Hillsboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Leesburg United Methodist Women 107 West Market St. Leesburg, VA 20176. Please share online condolences with the family at www.loudounfuneralchapel.com
