Betty Furr's Obituary
Ms. Betty Lou Furr 64 of Winchester, VA passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA.
Betty was born on Sunday, November 5, 1944 in Leesburg, VA.
She was a daughter of the late Jesse Preston Ambers, Sr. and Mrs. Alleen Lucas Ambers of Leesburg, VA. Betty was a life member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was employed by Navy Federal Credit Union for over 27 years.
She is survived by her two sons, Antoine and Lewis Washington and his wife Pam all of Winchester, VA; also surviving are brothers, Jesse P. Ambers, Jr. and wife Brenda of Sterling, VA, Anthony J. Ambers and wife Kitty of Richmond, VA and Clifton F. Ambers and wife Melissa of Winchester, VA.
Ms. Furr is also survived by two grand children, Shawna M. and Dustin L. Pierce, and one great grand child Justice; plus numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
In addition to her father Betty was predeceased by her daughter Vernetta Marie Furr in 2002.
Friends may call on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm at the Mount Olive Baptist Church on Cooksville Road in Lincoln, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at First Mount Olive Baptist Church located at 216 Loudoun Street, SW Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
