Betty J. Graves' Obituary
Betty J. Graves, 96 of Leesburg, Virginia passed on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.
Betty was born Thursday, August 21, 1919, in Washington, DC. She was a daughter of the late William S. Jones and the late Mildred Chapin Jones.
Betty was a resident of Leesburg for over 50 years, moving from Northwest, Washington, DC, in 1964.
She was an avid bridge player and co-founder of the Goose Creek Bridge Group which now meets at the Leesburg Senior Center. Betty taught introductory Bridge.
She was predeceased by her first husband Ogden W. White, Jr. in 1959, and her second husband Thomas S. Graves in 1986, and by her sister, Virginia Lakin earlier this year.
She leaves her family to cherish her memory including her daughter, Sidney Ann Safewright, of VA Beach, VA, and sons, Ogden W. White, III and daughter in law Barbara of Strongsville, OH, John Chapin White of VA Beach, VA, and William B. White, and daughter in law Ame Gayle of Hendersonville, TN; 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Betty’s life at 2 pm on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175, with a reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the County of Loudoun, for the Leesburg Senior Center 102 North Street, NW Leesburg, VA 20176.
Interment will be held privately by the family.
