Betty T. Jarrard's Obituary
Betty Travelpiece Jarrard, 90, of Leesburg, VA, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her home.
Born on June 3, 1924 in Wapwollapen, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Howard Travelpiece (1874-1952) and Jennie Sherwood (1884-1970). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul F. Jarrard and 11 brothers and sisters, Ethel Readler (1903-1969), Dora Varner (1909-1969), James Travelpiece (1914-1968), Sadie Beck (1915-1992), George Travelpiece (1906-1994), Maude Reinbold (1917-2002), Howard Travelpiece Jr. (1922-1923), Renzy Travelpiece (Bobby) (1919-1930), Garner Travelpiece (1926-2009), infant Zelda Irene Travelpiece (1930-1930) and Zilpha Ryman (1910-1979).
Betty and her husband moved to Leesburg 31 years ago. She was a homemaker and a crafter of needlework, including knitting, quilting and crochet.
She is survived by her children Lynn Jarrard and Paul Jarrard; grandson, Gregory Thompson III; great-granddaughter, Madeline Thompson; and sister, Henrietta Heckman.
No services are planned.
