Betty Jo Barker's Obituary
Betty Jo (Cornell) Barker, 86 passed away peacefully at home on April 23. 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.
Born October 20, 1939, in West Virginia to the late William Glenn and Mary Helen (Morrison) Cornell.
Betty graduated from Richwood High School in 1957 (Go Lumber Jacks).
Betty was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family unconditionally.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Edward Barker Sr. with whom she shared 58 loving years together. She was also preceded in death by her sister Beaula Ann Nelson and brother Jackie Lee Cornell.
She is survived by her 5 children: James Edward (Cynthia) Barker Jr., Carl Glenn Barker Sr., Susan Renee (Zachary) Campbell, Pamela Jo (Douglas) Smith and Robin Dianne (Timothy) Gordon, brother Glen Edgar Cornell, sister Barbara Helen (Ron) Hawthorne, 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, multiple nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
Visitation will be held Friday May 1, 2026, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Cir. SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175. Followed by a Graveside service Saturday May 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mr. Pleasant Church Cemetery 13266 Taylorstown Road Leesburg, Virginia 20176.
Pallbearers will be James Barker Jr., Carl Barker, Sr., Douglas Smith, Carl Barker Jr., Derek Smith, Christopher Sebzda, Dustin Gordon, Christian Birdsong, and Austin Barker.
