Betty Ann Moxley Lemarr's Obituary
Betty Ann Moxley Lemarr, age 81, of Leesburg, VA, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Betty Ann was born on October 2, 1931 in Loudoun County, VA. She was a daughter of the late William Thomas Moxley and the late Nannie Katherine Bayles Moxley. On October 27, 1951, Betty Ann married Clifton Eugene Lemarr. The couple ran Lemarr Trucking Company until 1984, when Clifton passed.
Betty Ann first job in 1940's she worked for Little Johns Drug Store. She also worked as a cook at the Mighty Midget Kitchen. She loved her job because she loved meeting people who became long time friends.
She was very proud to be a member and past Noble Grand of the Loudoun Rebekah Lodge #46. When Loudoun Rebekah Lodge #46 closed their doors she then transferred her membership to Laurel Rebekah Lodge #44 in Falls Church. As a member of the Loudoun Rebekah Lodge she received the Rebekah of the Year Award, which she treasured so much. She was also a member and past president of the LAPM of Alexandria #1. On May 22, 1978 she was awarded by Sovereign Grand Lodge the Decoration of Chivalry. She also was the President of Association 8.
Betty leaves her four children to cherish her memory, Clifton E. Lemarr, Jr. of Winchester, VA, William Hubert Lemarr, Leesburg, VA, Jo Ann Williams, Leesburg, VA, and Robert L. Lemarr, Middletown, VA. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Poole, of Leesburg, VA, her aunt Dorothy Jewell of Leesburg, 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA. 20175, where family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8pm.
Funeral service will begin at Loudoun Funeral Chapel at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2013, Pastor Louis Schwebius officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Evercare,or to the funeral home to help defray final expenses.
