Betty Hogeland Campbell's Obituary
Mrs. BETTY HOGELAND CAMPBELL, 97, of Leesburg since 1973 died on Friday, April 24, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Campbell was born December 30, 1911 in Grandin, NJ to the late Willis and Mary Hogeland DeMott. Her husband Thomas MacIlwain Campbell and five siblings also predeceased her. She moved to Waterford during 1944 and became active with the Waterford Foundation. Mrs. Campbell volunteered with Loudoun Hospital for many years and worked in the gift shop at Oatlands Plantation. She was a member of the Loudoun Woman's Club and Catoctin Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Campbell was an avid bridge player; playing three days a week including Fridays with the Loudoun Bridge Bluffs at the Loudoun Senior Center. She will be remembered for her famous apple pies.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her four children: Dr. T. Colin Campbell (Karen) of Ithaca, NY, John N. Campbell (Joan) of New Cumberland, PA, Betty Jane Fletcher of Palo Alto, CA, Dr. Ronald J. Campbell (Vicky) of Pennington, NJ; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA on Sunday, April 26 2009 from 4-6pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 27th at Catoctin Presbyterian Church, 15565 High Street, Waterford, VA 20197 with Pastor David Douthett officiating. Interment will be in Rehoboth Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA.
