Beverly Wagie's Obituary
Mrs. Beverly Diane Wagie, age 65, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away at home on Monday morning July 2, 2012. Beverly was born on August 8, 1946 in Buffalo, NY. She was the daughter of the late Pete Cary and the late Margarita Malone Cary. Two children also predeceased her, Steven Belle Isle and Malinda Toefield.
Beverly was a 1964 graduate of O’Keefe High School in Atlanta, GA. She began her career with the State of Georgia, working in library services. She then continued her career with the federal government in various capacities for over 20 years. She finished her career with the National Park Service, from which she retired in 1994. As a military wife, she lived in many different places over the years including Atlanta, Falls Church, VA, Fort Polk, LA, Fort Knox, KY, Hinesville, GA and Faurndau, Germany. Retuning to the Northern Virginia area in 1989 after her husband retired from the military, they finally relocated to Leesburg in 1996. Beverly enjoyed bowling, music and being a devoted wife and mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lyle A. Wagie of Leesburg, VA; a son Christopher Wagie of Leesburg, daughter Erica Golden of Leesburg; two sisters Linda Yates (Scott) of Rockvale, TN, and Judy Martinez (David) of Sugarloaf Key, FL; she is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Emmanuel, Laniea, Lorenzo, Jayla, Tyrell, Dominque; great granddaughter Arianna, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 1 pm in Quantico National Cemetery.
