To BJ, Bob's children and siblings and all others suffering with his loss I want to extend my heartfelt condolences. I am thinking of you and praying for you during this time. Bob and I worked together for about 10 years at USA TODAY and he was a great colleague, always adding a lot of fun and happily cynical perspective to our daily efforts to put out the nation's newspaper. He contributed greatly to our growth in audience and the respect we gained from other journalists. I hope you can take great pleasure at this time in recalling the enthusiasm he brought to life. I had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Twigg early last year, when I visited with his son Michael. Although I did not know Mr. Twigg well, I know that he brought a wonderful son into the world who loved and admired him--and did everything he could to build an extraordinary relationship with his father. I believe that Michael acquired much of his intelligent brand of wit and literary skill sense from Mr. Twigg (both of whom would note my grammatical errors in this message!)
