Brianna Witherspoon's Obituary
Brianna entered the hearts of her family at the age of six. After being abandoned and hospitalized in the ICU, she was visited by Patricia Witherspoon. Moved by love and compassion, Jerry and Patricia Witherspoon made the loving decision to welcome Brianna into their family and take on her care, giving so much of themselves to ensure she was safe, cherished and surrounded by love.
Brianna passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 14, 2026. Although she was nonverbal and faced numerous medical challenges, including the need for a G-tube and ongoing care, she touched everyone around her with her beautiful spirit. Doctors once estimated that she would live only to age 18, but Brianna defied those expectations and lived until age 28, just over one month shy of her 29th birthday.
Brianna brought light to her family and joy to those who knew her. Her life was a powerful reflection of resilience, unconditional love and grace. She is now reunited in heaven with her dad, Jerry Witherspoon, who passed in 2015.
Brianna’s life was a beautiful reflection of resilience, unconditional love, and grace. Though she was nonverbal, her presence spoke through joy, warmth, and the love she gave and received.
She loved yellow, bright colors, music and her smile could brighten any room.
Her memory will continue to live through the family, caregivers, teachers and friends who loved her dearly and were blessed by her beautiful spirit.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family. Her Mom, Patricia Witherspoon; her sister, Latricia; her stepdad, Kevin Davis; her brothers, Jerry, Eric, and Joshua; her sister in law, Maya and Melissa; her brother in law, Lionel; her aunts, Betty, Alma, Peggy, Leigh (with her husband, Antonio (Labot)), and Linda; her uncles, Carl and Alvin; her caregivers, Shalon Warren and Betty Covington; her teacher for many years, Helen Covington (Kitty); and a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the funeral will immediately follow at 11:00 AM.
