Calvin Maurice Sheppard, Sr.'s Obituary
CALVIN MAURICE SHEPPARD, SR., 57, of Purcellville, VA, life long resident of Loudoun County, died at home with his family by his side on Sunday, May 10, 2009. Mr. Sheppard was born November 7, 1951 in Leesburg to the late James Wilbur Sheppard and Mabel Beatrice Murray Greene Sheppard. Two siblings also predeceased him, his twin at birth, and Mabel Beatrice Brent. Mr. Sheppard attended Douglass High School. He worked as a mechanic early in life and then with the Jessie Randolph Refuge Service that later became Grayson’s Refuge. Mr. Sheppard worked for the County of Loudoun and more recently with the Town of Herndon. He was a Dallas Cowboys fanatic that enjoyed Drag Racing and Horseshoes. Mr. Sheppard was an avid Hunter and Fisherman.
His Fiancé Wendy M. Williams of Purcellville survives Mr. Sheppard; six children: Beatrice Scott (Joseph)of Mclean, VA, Frances Sheppard of Plano, TX, Kristal Cook (Kelvin) of Leesburg, Martina Bullock (Tracy) of Leesburg, Michelle Camp (Zachary) of Clifton, VA, Calvin M. Sheppard, Jr. of Round Hill, VA; three step children: Aretha Veney (Darryl) of Winchester, VA, Jerry Carter of Leesburg, James Carter of Martinsburg, WV; eight siblings: Evelyn Thornton of Leesburg, Irvin Green Jr. of Woodbridge, VA, Doris Thornton of Sterling, VA, James Wilbur Sheppard Jr. of Leesburg, Wilma Bentley of Purcellville, VA, Bernard Sheppard of Midland, VA, Dorothy Wilkerson of Leesburg, Curtis Sheppard of Chantilly, VA nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Community Church, 19790 Ashburn Road, Ashburn, VA on Thursday, May 14th 2009 from 10am until the time of services at 11:00 am. Pastor Michael Taylor, Rev. Roy Trammell, Rev. Lyman Wilson, and Rev. Michael King will be presiding. Interment will be private.
