CAROL MCCAMEY PRICE's Obituary
Carol Ruth McCamey Price, 80, of Manassas, VA was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior on Sunday, September 29, 2024 after a prolonged illness. Carol was born in St. Paul, VA to the late Arthur and Bessie (Glover) McCamey and was the youngest of six children. Carol’s parents taught her the importance of faith, family, church, education, hard work and caring for others.
Carol graduated from the Johnston Memorial Hospital Nursing program (Abingdon, VA) as a Registered Nurse. Additionally, she graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. She was a caring and hard-working professional in various nursing positions and when serving as a funeral director.
Carol dearly loved her family, her friends, her church family, and most of all her Savior. She often sacrificially gave of herself to benefit others. She cared for and encouraged many people in ways that were perhaps unnoticed but that was her preference. She enjoyed being behind the scenes, always ready and willing to jump in and help someone in need. She gave her time and talents to bless others by serving them in practical ways. She often took someone to an appointment or made a meal for a grieving family or a family with a new baby. And she did so much more - helping in many other practical ways too numerous to mention. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of kindness, compassion, and service will continue to inspire us all. As one of her grandchildren said so well, “we were blessed to have her in our lives.”
Carol is survived by her three children: Rebecca (Duane) Gary, Jennifer (Mark) Frye and Donald Price, Jr.; five grandchildren: Nikolas (Melanie), Jordan (Madeline), J’Lynne, Donovan and Danielle; her brother, Donald (Joan) McCamey, her sister, Sue Hobbs, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: Jack McCamey; and two sisters: Kathy Osborne and Bea Simmons.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Irma, Jenan and Mel along with Genova and her staff and the Heartland Hospice staff for their wonderful and loving care.
The family will receive friends at Triumph Baptist Church, 4267 Sigler Road, Vint Hill Farms, VA on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm with a service to celebrate Carol’s life immediately following. Pastor Phillips will be officiating. Entombment services will be held at Temple Hill Cemetery, 2529 Memorial Drive, Castlewood, VA on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11:00 am with Pastor Adkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Triumph Baptist Church.
