Carol Ann Smith's Obituary
CAROL ANN SMITH, 79, of Round Hill, Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 6, 2023, in Leesburg, Virginia.
She was born Sunday, July 2, 1944, in Sewickley, PA. She was the daughter of the late Charles Smith and the late Helen (Hissam) Smith. She was the oldest of five children.
Carol grew up in Coraopolis, P.A. She was very proud of her education. She graduated from NOVA Community College with a degree in Horticulture and then went on to earn a degree in Business Administration from Strayer University. Professionally, she worked for the CIA for 20 years in the Office of Security.
She loved to travel to new places, needlework, gardening, and entertaining. Her favorite thing was her family. She loved being called Nana and spending time with her three grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her loving daughters, Jennifer Herbert (Kevin) of Round Hill, VA and Kristin Surma (Michael) of Round Hill, VA; three grandchildren Andrew Herbert, Emily German (Chase), and Natalie Surma; sisters Charlene Creese (Wayne), Debbie Smith, Marsha Smith and sister in-law Noy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Don Smith and her beloved dog, Clarice.
A visitation will be at 10:00 AM and Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9th at Our Savior's Way Lutheran Church located at 43115 Waxpool Rd Ashburn, Virginia 20148.
