Carol Ann Spotts' Obituary
Carol A. Spotts, 77, of Potomac Falls, Virginia died on Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Johnson Center at Falcons Landing in Sterling, Virginia.
Carol was born Dec. 25, 1935 in Hillsdale, MI. She graduated from Jonesville High School in 1953 and Michigan State University in 1957 with a degree in Elementary Education. She completed a Masters of Education from Wright State University in 1972.
She was married to Maynard Spotts in 1955. They have three sons, Phillip Spotts of Liberty Township, OH, Kenneth Spotts of Loveland, OH and David Spotts of Maumee, OH; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Marilyn Hicks, and Darlene Samuelson, of Sterling, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Stanley Gray, and two sisters, Margret Czarnecki, and Annett Hamilton.
Carol taught school in Ohio for over 25 years, retiring in 1995. She has been active in church and community programs living in Ohio, Florida, and most recently Falcons Landing retirement community in Sterling, VA. She loved to sing in the choirs, play hand bells, and volunteer in numerous activities. She was well recognized for her sewing, needle work, and quilting abilities which benefited many of her volunteer efforts.
Memorial services and interment will be held at a later date.
