Carolyn Bryant Beam's Obituary
Carolyn Bryant Beam, 91, of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8th, 2020, due to complications brought on by dementia.
Born in 1928 in Faulkner County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Houston “Bun” Bryant and the late Amy Eloise Arnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Colvin Bernard “Chuck” Bryant.
Carolyn received a BS Degree in Education from the University of Central Arkansas and an MS Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas. During her career as an educator, she taught in public elementary schools in Little Rock, AR; Chicago, IL; Miami, FL; and New Orleans, LA.
Introduced to Christianity within traditional churches during childhood, as an adult, Carolyn practiced her faith by attending non-denominational churches and then, in her later years, by following televangelist ministries. She had a passion for scriptures that emphasized how faith could overcome adversity. She frequently made donations of food to the poor through Catholic charities.
Carolyn is survived by her sister and husband Judy and Kent Henry; sister and husband Betty and Travis Worrel; sister Fern Camp; brothers Preston and Leon Bryant; her two sons and their wives, James and Nancy Beam, and William and Karen Beam; daughter and husband Susan Beam and Jeb Kelly; daughter Carin Beam; grandchildren, Jessica Beam, Michelle Beam, Sarah Beam, and Kevin Beam; plus many nephews and nieces.
A private graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, VA, on Wednesday, August 19th, 2020.
