Carolyn (Mahoney) Burry's Obituary
Carolyn (Mahoney) Burry, 56 of Leesburg, VA, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025. She was born on Sunday, October 27, 1968, in Quincy, Massachusetts to Joseph and Irene Mahoney. Carolyn graduated from North Quincy High School in 1986 and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago, IL, in 2006; as well as a Medical Assisting Degree in 2016.
She was a flight attendant for Business Express Airlines where she met the love of her life and husband, Steve Burry.
She was a small business owner of Classy City Bling in which she designed and created beautiful one-of-a-kind necklaces. She loved all types of animals but was particularly fond of donkeys and cows. She also enjoyed volunteering with the elderly.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Steve Burry; Paul Mahoney (brother), Donna (sister) & Phil McLaughlin, Joseph (brother) & Nancy Mahoney, Maureen Scigliano (sister), Robert (brother) & Stella Mahoney, Joseph Frazier (uncle), Billy Frazier (uncle), Robert (uncle) & Phyllis Frazier, Ellen O’Neil (aunt) and nieces and nephews including Brian Mahoney, Nathan Mahoney, Genevieve Mahoney, Michael McLaughlin, Matthew McLaughlin, Brianna Mahoney, Brendan Mahoney, Stephanie Scigliano, Vincent Scigliano, Richard Bonvie, Megan Mahoney, Molly McNutt as well as other cousins, family and friends.
A service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Gateway Community Church located at 42350 Tall Cedars Parkway, South Riding, VA 20152.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Hamel-Lydon Funeral Chapel, located at 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02171.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Divine Mercy Parish / Sacred Heart Church located at 386 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02171.
Interment will be held after this service at Blue Hill Cemetery located at 700 West St, Braintree, MA 02184.
