Cathreen Vandevelde Beasley's Obituary
Mrs. Cathreen Vandevelde Beasley, age 88, of Ashburn, VA (formerly of Louisville, KY), passed away on Tuesday, June 05, 2012, in Leesburg, VA.
Cathreen was born on October 9, 1923, in Paducah, KY. She was a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Vandevelde and the late Erma Brilla Crawley Vandevelde. Cathreen worked at the Naval Ordnance Plant as a bookkeeper for many years. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, until the passing of her husband, the late Ronald Louis Beasley in 2005. Cathreen took the opportunity to move to Virginia to be close to her daughter and family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Linda Beasley Kinne and son-in-law Rick of Ashburn, VA; grandson Kevin Wade Handmaker of Leesburg, VA; and great granddaughter Kaitlyn Belle Handmaker. She leaves her brother Charles Edward Vandevelde and sister-in-law Patricia of Naples, FL.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three siblings, Paul Bernard Vandevelde, Erma Pauline Riggle, and Mary Loueva Fielding.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA.
A second visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 2 until 8 pm at South Louisville Joseph E. Ratterman & Son 7336 Southside Dr. Louisville, KY 40214.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Louisville, KY.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to band of parents.org on behalf of Taylor Love to be used towards curing her neuroblastoma cancer.
