Charles Ambers Jr.'s Obituary
CHARLES AMBERS, JR, 84, a lifelong resident of Leesburg received his ticket to ride the morning train from earth to glory on Friday, February 24th 2012. He was born on October 8th 1927 to the late Charles and Myrtle Ambers, Sr. of Leesburg. Mr. Ambers was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 50 years Mrs. Margaret Ambers in 2010. A brother, Jesse Preston Ambers, Sr. and two sisters, Martha Stokes and Christine Anderson, brother-in-law: Fred Anderson, also predeceased him.
Charles will be remembered as a wonderful father, and avid sports fan. He especially loved baseball and football. His favorite teams were the Nationals and the Cowboys. Many years ago Charles served as an ordained deacon at the First Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Leesburg, and recently in Lincoln.
Mr. Ambers is survived by six children: Theodore Allen Chinn, Sharon Elizabeth Ambers-Blowe, Avis Furnita Ambers, Charles Raymond Ambers III, Michael Lee Ambers, Rowshell Ann Ambers; a daughter in law: Melissa Ambers; son in law: Melvin Blowe, thirteen grandchildren: Jammal Chinn, Tyrone Ambers, Marcus Ambers, Danesha Ambers, Daryl Heath, Nicole Blowe, Lynse Ambers, Devin Ambers-Blowe, Cameron Ambers, Dillion Ambers, Caleb Ambers, Isaac Thornton, Jessica Thornton; four great grandchildren: TJ Ambers, Ayannah Ambers, Camryn Ambers, Jaylynne Heath; three brothers: Herman and Regina Ambers, Raymond Ambers, Joe and Marie Ambers; four sisters: Mammie and Nathaniel Hall, Lena Ambers, Vickie and William Golstein, Grace Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 am at the First Mount Baptist Church on 216 Loudoun Street, SW, Leesburg, VA 20175. The ceremony will begin at 11 am on Saturday.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lucketts.
Donations may be made to the family to help defray final expenses.
