Charles Curtis Fishback's Obituary
Charles Curtis Fishback age 78 died November 24, 2021 at the Veterans Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV. Curtis as he was known to family and old family friends was born November 21, 1943 in Leesburg, Virginia the son of Winfred Wolfe Fishback and Nellie Virginia Cooper. He attended Waterford Elementary and Loudoun County High School where he graduated in 1963 and became known by the grown-up name of “Charlie”. In 1965 he married Joyce Ann Hawes and they had one son Charles Russell (Rusty) Fishback. Unfortunately, this marriage ended in divorce and in 1975 he married Margaret Dennis Powell. Charlie was drafted into the army and spent his tour of duty in Berlin, Germany. On returning home he went to work for the C&P Telephone Company and worked there until the late 1980’s when he quit began selling real estate eventually starting his own company Olde Loudoun Realty. In the early 2000’s Charlie suffered a debilitating stroke which left him partially paralyzed and pretty much home bound for the rest of his life. Charlie’s second love after his family was cars and drag racing which you could find him doing as often as he possibly could. He was predeceased by his parents, wife and son. He is survived by a brother, John Fishback, a sister Jean Calhoun, two stepchildren, Kim and Tim Powell, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a niece and a great niece and nephew. A visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm Thursday, December 16 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel with a graveside service at 1:00pm on Friday, December 17 in Union Cemetery in Leesburg.
