Charles Matthews James, Jr., “Matt” age 67 of Leesburg, Virginia, lost his battle with Leukemia at the VA Hospital in Martinsburg, WV, on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
Matt was born in Winchester, VA on August 8, 1945. He was a son of the late Margaret Fleming James and the late Charles Matthews James, Sr. He attended Augusta Military Academy. He continued on to serve his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He received the Combat Infantryman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Battle Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Bronze Star.
In recent years Matt worked in Restaurant Services.
He leaves to cherish his memory a son Charles Matthews James, III, his sister Phyllis Geiman, a niece Kimberly Saba Rowlands, nephews Sydnor F. and James M. Geiman.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11 am, in Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, VA.
