Charles Lee Kalbaugh Jr.'s Obituary
Charles “Charlie” L. Kalbaugh Jr., 64, of Leesburg, VA, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 26, 1949 in Keyser, West Virginia he was the son of the late Charles Lee Kalbaugh, the late Genevieve Yvonne Hamilton and the late Marshall Paul Broadwater.
Charlie was an Army veteran and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2005 after 37 years of service. He also served as Commander of The American Legion Post 293 in Purcellville, VA.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Kalbaugh; children, Tracy Gallagher and her husband, Brian of Leesburg, Kevin Kalbaugh and his wife, Olivia of Leesburg and Eric Kalbaugh of Leesburg; grandchildren, Gaby, Adriana, Brady, Sophia and Brooke. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Sandy Shay, Karen Kelly and brother Marshall Broadwater. He also had many nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law that he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg, VA.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, VA with Father Mark Feather officiating. An additional service will take place at a later date in his hometown of Westernport, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to The American Legion Post 293 in Purcellville, VA or the Fisher House Foundation at www.FisherHouse.org.
