Charles McGeehan's Obituary
CHARLES “BOB” ROBERT MCGEEHAN, 75, a resident of Potomac Falls, Virginia since 2004, died on Tuesday August 29, 2006 at Meadow Glenn Assisted Living facility in Leesburg, VA from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
Mr. McGeehan is survived by his wife of 49 years Coralyn White McGeehan of Potomac Falls, VA; two daughters: Clare M. Holter of Stephens City, VA, Susan M. Williams of Purcellville, VA; three granddaughters and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. McGeehan was born July 3, 1931 in Scranton, PA to the late Charles Thomas and Clare Phillips McGeehan. He received his pilot’s license at the age of 16. Mr. McGeehan served his country in the United States Air Force and was a 1953 graduate of Lafayette College in Eastern PA. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Alexandria, VA. He had 38 years of service as a pilot, beginning with Capital Airlines in 1956 and continuing with United Airlines after the merger until his retirement in 1998.
Mr. McGeehan was a resident of Arlington for many years before moving to Vero Beach, Florida from 1992 to 2004.
Memorial Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 14 Cornwall St. NW Leesburg, VA on Wednesday September 6, 2006 – 1:00pm with Father John R. Ohmer officiating.
