Charles (Chuck) Baker Weaver jr's Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Baker Weaver Jr, a member of an old Washington family and grandson of John L. Weaver, founder of Weaver Brothers, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Leesburg, Virginia, at the age of 90. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy L. Weaver, daughter, Karen L. Bush, grandchildren Morgan F. Bush and Madison L. Bush, his sister Connie Strachan, and many great nieces and nephews.
Born on March 22, 1936, in Washington, D.C., Chuck was the son of Charles Baker Weaver Sr. and Clarice Edna Weaver. He grew up in Chevy Chase, MD, graduated high school from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in 1954, and went on to receive a Nuclear Engineering degree from the University of Maryland. Chuck completed a master’s Program at Johns Hopkins University in Aerospace Engineering. He worked in the Applied Physics Laboratory at Johns Hopkins as an Engineering Assistant in the Telemetry Group.
Chuck dedicated much of his work life to Metraplex Corporation in CT/MD. Here, he developed data systems for missile and aircraft testing and served as President until the company's sale to Herley Industries in 1996. He was well known for his intelligence in the field of Astrophysics.
Outside of his career, Chuck enjoyed bowling, playing golf, astronomy, and being an amateur radio operator for over 70 years. He was the youngest radio operator to become a member of the Military Affiliated Radio System at age 16 in 1955. He found great joy in family activities, community involvement, faith, travel, and most of all walking on the beach.
Chuck was very involved with the Lions Club in Buckeystown and an active member of the Buckeystown United Methodist Church. While Chuck and Nancy lived in Annapolis, he served as a volunteer for the House of Delegates during the 2006 General Assembly Session.
He was proud to be both a citizen of the United States and Great Britain.
Above all, Chuck will be remembered for his love of family, his unwavering character, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
