I am so sorry about your loss. I just returned from out of town so I was unable to attend the funeral, much to my regret, so please accept my written condolences. It was an honor knowing both of your parents. My mother and father, who worked with them in the early years of the Wolf campaign, thought such a great deal of them both. Dear Sue and Other Weir Family. My sincere condolences and I am still hoping to be there later today in spite of a last minute emergency to say goodbye to you Wonderful Dad in person, Your parents were good friends and wonderful people that I met through
my position as Vice Chair of the Arlington Republican Committee and later as their Candidate. They always had a smile on their faces and were a true team performing the difficult task of encouraging us in a very difficult situation. I and others always felt better after they stopped by and they never gave us understanding that one must fight even if one is not destined to win to make the path straight for those that did win later- Ben Winslow and Mike Lane and now Ind John Vihstadt. They were so warm and caring and they knew how to laugh and have a good time. Sadly since we saw them for work and not in Falls Church , we really did not get a chance to know you except to hear proud parents or grandparents telling us of some family news. They were lucky to live together in such a loving relationship and I know that he must have missed her terribly after she passed.
MY PRAYERS have not stopped since I first saw the write up in the Post and they won't after tomorrow. Your Dad was just a very special person wounded in action and again at work and he served his community on the school board and in his neighborhood and throughout the 10th District. My thoughts are with you and please trust that they are together once again in Heaven after a life full of accomplishments not just of you and your children but in every thing that they did. May you remember the good times and so many good deeds that they did and how appreciated they were from all that knew them.

Dear Sue, Greg, Mo & Jeff, on behalf of the Chaconas family, I wish to express my sincere loss for both your parents. I remember the good times our families had together when we lived in Don Caster Estates, in Falls Church and going to George Mason High. Your Mom and Dad helped my siblings and me during my family's most difficult times. I remember your Dad telling me in the den of your house, how he got hurt in Vietnam. Susan and I will always remember Chuck (and Darlene) as always encouraging, positive and loyal friends in and out of public service. We have good memories in recent years of Young America’s Foundation cruises in the Adriatic with Darlene and Chuck. And last year in Australia with Chuck. While slowed down, Chuck was going to see the sites and live life to the fullest. Chuck was consistently grinning discussing or observing any subject or attraction. Their spirits are together again in Heaven. We will gratefully remember a patriotic wonderful gentleman forever. He was a blessing in so many lives. George Allen

I am so sorry for your loss...for our community's loss. Both your dad and your mom were the pillars of each community in which they lived. Their service to northern Virginia lives on in so many for who they were mentors, friends and leaders.I shall always treasure the times we spent together, especially working campaigns; I learned so much and found friends for life. Mo, reading your dad's story and recalling your mom's story, I realized that they were quite the dynamic duo. They cared and they sought to make this world and their community and country a better place for all. It is no wonder that you care so much and always seek justice, fairness and to remain involved. You are their daughter, Maureen. They are not here but they are with us with every one of your kindness and concern for others. I love you. I am sorry you must go through the sorrow of losing another parent. sending you much love and a great big hug.
