Charles "Chuck" Dwain Burton's Obituary
FIRST SERGEANT CHARLES “CHUCK” DWAIN BURTON, U.S. ARMY, 45, of Ashburn, VA. On Thursday February 28, 2008 at Fort Atterbury, Indiana, Sergeant First Class Burton, a Soldier and a Marine at heart, died while on duty, joining his fellow fallen comrades. Chuck was born December 18, 1962 in Los Angeles, California to the late Milton Auston and Anna Laverne O’Sullivan Burton. He was raised in Oregon and entered the U.S. Navy at age 17. He served in the U.S. Navy, but the majority of his career was served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Chuck had 28 years of proud dedicated service to his country. Chuck was an avid marksman and hunter. Chuck loved being a family man and spending time with his wife, daughters and son. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a love for animals.
Mr. Burton is survived by his beloved wife Lyla Maire Burton; two daughters: Meagan Nicole Pullen, Lyla Danielle Pullen; a son: Christopher Ryan Pullen, all of Ashburn, Virginia; brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Cr. SE Leesburg, VA on Sunday March 9, 2008 from 1 until the time of services at 3pm. Graveside services will follow at 10:00 am on Monday March 10, 2008 with Full Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Friends should arrive at the administration building by 9:30am.
