Charles Silvesta Daye's Obituary
On Saturday, November 27, 2010, God called Charles ‘Jake’ Silvesta Daye home to rest while residing at the Martinsburg, West Virginia Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born on December 28, 1948 in Leesburg, VA, to the late Harvey Edgar Daye, Sr. and Ida Virginia Daye-Fletcher.
Jake faithfully served his country with valor as a Veteran of the Vietnam War in the United States Army from 1967 until 1970. He was a member of the mechanical maintenance team which prepared him for his passion as a mechanic.
Jake was preceded in death by his son, Charles S. Thomas; brothers Harvey E. Daye, Jr., William A. Daye, John S. Daye; and sister Shirley M. Fletcher.
Jake leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Daphne Williams of Ranson, WV and Shana Thomas of Sterling, VA; brother James E. Daye of Dumfries, VA; sisters Isabelle Wood of Leesburg, VA, Martha E. Hall (Ted) of Leesburg, VA, Edith J. Hughes (Noah) of Manassas, VA, Mary E. Allen of Hyattsville, MD, and Dorothy M. Daye of Sterling, VA; grandchildren, Dominique and Keynan Williams of Ranson, WV, and Jaleele and Brandi Thomas of Sterling, VA. Jake will be dearly missed by his godchild, Serenity Sontiago of Sterling, VA; and long-time companion Mildred Thomas of Sterling, VA as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Jake loved the Redskins and was a passionate fan!
