CHARLOTTE SHIREY BRADLEY's Obituary
Charlotte Shirey Bradley, age 94, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Charlotte was born to Arleigh and Audrey Shirey on February 5, 1929, in Ronceverte, West Virginia. She lived in Leesburg for the past 50 years, working for the County of Loudoun until her retirement in 2006. Charlotte had a heart for volunteering; she was an active member of the Leesburg Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, The Salvation Army, and the American Heart Association.
Charlotte was a true inspiration to all who knew her; just her presence made the day a little brighter. She loved her family, friends, and her beloved pets. Charlotte had the ability to reach people in a deep and positive way through her thoughtful and caring actions; always making everyone around her feel special. She was known to have candy and treats on hand to pass out to those needing a little light in their day.
Charlotte truly lived life to the fullest and never took a day for granted. In addition to her passion for volunteering, she loved reading, gardening, and attending her many monthly luncheon groups. Charlotte was also very active and loved to take walks outside, enjoying nature’s beauty.
Charlotte is predeceased by her husband, Ralph Edward (Ed) Bradley, Sr., brother, Dr. Robert Shirey, sister, Louise Phillips, and son-in-law, Paul A. Morrison.
Charlotte is survived by her three children Ralph Edward (Eddie) Bradley, Jr. (Kelly), Mary Beth Morrison, and Amy Bradley, and her sister, Dorothy Talbott. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Justin (Kelly), Jimmy (Meg), and Ryan (Casey) Bradley; as well as her six great grandchildren and chosen family of people that she collected during her life. She was a mother to many; all of whom she loved and touched deeply.
Although we are heartbroken to have lost our beloved mother, we find comfort knowing that she is now with her beloved husband, Ed.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 1 pm, at the Leesburg United Methodist Church, Leesburg, Virginia.
Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice or an animal rescue of choice.
