Charlotte Lewis is one of those remarkable people that touched all places and phases of our community. She made everyone feel like she was your best friend and it was always fun to have one of those chance meetings at the supermarket to get a boost of care and love. We met Charlotte when we attended The Church of the Intercessor and also we shared fellowship at King of Kings. God sent Charlotte to minister to a mostly white crowd. She would tell us that she was to be the raisin in the rice and she surely sweetened our pot. No one was more open, honest, caring and not afraid to challenge or tell it like it is. We did not have to guess, when we were messing up or in need of love, where Charlotte was coming from. I can remember many moments of personal blessings in our relationship but the one that stands out for me was when our newborn son Austin was receiving surgery for a heart defect. She spent the day at the hospital and prayed for that baby along with (Rene). Charlotte held us when we had fear for the outcome and kept on praying. It always felt good to be a recipient of Charlotte's prayer battles. Our son's surgery outcome was perfect and he carries on as a healthy young adult. The world is truly less bright without her and I can't imagine the loss for her family and really close friends. We feel the loss for everyone. Charlotte was a true lover of people. She loved her family, church family, friends, acquaintances, co workers and the kids at school and on the bus. To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. I hope that Charlotte can find rest from earthly labors and joy to move on to the next adventure of eternity. I know she has many jewels in her crown. Our prayers and concerns go out to the whole Lewis family
