Chase Stephens' Obituary
Chase Randall Stephens, firstborn son of Chase G. Stephens and Martha Engle was born on January 28, 1927 in Gurdon, Arkansas. In his heart he often returned to his roots.
Chase died on Oct.12 in his beloved Virginia, where he spent the past 55 years celebrating life.
After graduating from Hendrix College in Conway, Ar., he served in the Navy in Bethesda, Md. He worked in the Senate Office of J.William Fulbright.
His 33 year career in government service was with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. After retirement he moved to Leesburg, VA.
Chase's many interests and passions covered his great love of books, opera and all forms of music, Civil War history and preservation, antiques and architecture. He pursued his interests where ever they led, always with a gleam in his eye.
Chase is survived by a large and loving family: Brother Gayle Stephens and wife Marge, sister Ursula Alley and husband Peter, and many devoted nephews and neices. He leaves a lifetime of valued friends, for which his family is forever grateful.
The Stephens family wishes to thank the caregivers at Heritage Hall Rehab and Nursing Home, and Evercare Hospice for their special care.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24 at the Leesburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Martha Spigener at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances be sent to Oatlands Plantation or to Evercare Hospice.
