Cherie Alisse Fitz's Obituary
Cherie Alisse Fitz, 37, of Leesburg, VA died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg. Cherie was a devoted homemaker who influenced everyone she met with her gentle spirit and angelic ways. She touched many souls during her courageous fight against breast cancer.
Cherie was born on September 1, 1968 in Lake City, S.C. Cherie was a member of La Plata United Methodist Church in Maryland but recently attended Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg. She was a 1986 graduate of McDonough High School in Pomfret, MD and a 1992 graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. degree in Computer Science. After college she went to work at GE, in Rockville, MD, in the Information Systems Management Program. While working at GE she met her husband Michael. They were married on Oct. 8, 1994 in Blue Ridge Summit, PA.
She will watch over her loving husband, Michael Todd Fitz, and her three precious children, Alex Richard Fitz, 9, Andrew Ryan Fitz, 8, and Nicole Leann Fitz, 5. The following beloved family members also remain to share memories of her: mother and step-father, Cynthia and James Beaston of Pomfret, MD; sister and brother-in-law, Alexis Olmsted and Edward Olmsted of La Plata, MD; brothers Ellis Vaughan, Jr. of Warrenton, VA and Stephen Vaughan of Charlotte, NC; father and mother-in-law Ric and Sharon Fitz of Waynesboro, PA; one niece and four nephews; and many other family and friends. Cherie was predeceased by her father Ellis Vaughan, Sr. in 1999.
The viewing will be held on Friday, March 31, 2006 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel. Graveside funeral services will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601, at 12:45 p.m.
