Christine Gertrude Kahele's Obituary
Mrs. Christine Gertrude Kahele, 89 of Aldie, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Christine was born Monday, March 8, 1926 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
She lived most of her life in West Haven and Branford, CT, and was a dedicated employee of the Southern New England Telephone Company for 28 years in New Haven.
In retirement she was an avid reader who enjoyed the arts to include theatre and concerts, spending time with her only sister Ellie Budz, and was an active member of the parish community of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Branford. Even in her advanced years she was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of hers to travel to Europe by visiting England, France, Ireland, Italy and Greece.
Christine moved to Loudoun County in 2012 to be close to her only son and family residing in Northern Virginia. For the last two years of her life she battled several significant health issues which in the end she succumbed to at the Loudoun County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leesburg.
She leaves her family to cherish her memory including her son Karl Jonathan Kahele, her daughter in law, Yasmin Casira Kahele, granddaughter Bridget Kahele of Aldie, VA.; step granddaughter Lorean Newby, great granddaughter Gabriela Newby and her nephew Charles Budz of Branford.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175 with the Father John Mosimann officiating.
A second memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Saint Mary's Church in Branford, Ct with the Father Robert Landback officiating. The Interment will be at Saint Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. Flowers may be sent to Saint Mary's located at 731 Main Street, Branford, 06405, for the December service.
