Christopher Joseph Gallagher's Obituary
Christopher Joseph Gallagher, 33, of Bluemont, VA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in Bluemont, VA as a result of an accident.
Chris was born on July 19, 1988 in Phoenixville, PA. He is survived by his parents; including his father, Kevin C. and Christy J. Gallagher of Huntsville, Alabama, and his mom, Carol Donahue Gallagher of Ashburn, VA. He is also survived by his brother, Timothy R. Gallagher of Baltimore, MD, and sisters Jennifer L. Gallagher of Charlotte, NC, and Morganne E. Cieslak, of Huntsville, AL. He was a beloved uncle to Fiona Grace Gallagher. He is also survived by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors whom he loved very much.
Chris graduated from Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, VA. He received his bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. He was a surveyor for VIKA Capitol in Washington, DC. He also worked for Bowman Consulting in VA and PA for many years. Chris enjoyed being outside, and thoroughly loved being a surveyor.
Chris received his Eagle Scout award from Troop 970 in Sterling in 2007. He participated in many camping and high adventure trips. In high school he was a member of the wrestling and cross-country teams. He was very adventurous and enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, rafting, and spending time with family and friends. He always seemed to be present when you needed him most. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to a public visitation on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel and Crematory at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
A Mass for Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 12:30 PM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, located at 21370 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA 20147.
Memorial services will be held to continue to celebrate Chris’s life on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 12 Noon at the Arcola United Methodist Church, located on 24757 Arcola Mills Drive, Dulles, VA 20166. A reception will follow the memorial from 1 to 2:30 pm at the church. Please come casual and comfortable, your best flannel shirt would be perfect, just what Chris would have wanted.
Chris will be laid to rest at 3:30pm on Saturday in Cool Springs Natural Cemetery on Cool Spring Lane, Berryville, VA 22611.
