Clagett "Mutt" Harry Moxley's Obituary
Mr. Clagett Harry "Mutt" Moxley, Sr., 79, of Leesburg, Virginia, died Saturday, January 21, 2006, at his home in Leesburg, Virginia.
Born on July 8, 1926 in Loudoun County, He was a son of the late Thomas Oden Moxley and the late Margaret (Dunn) Moxley. Life long of Loudoun County, Mutt served his country in the United States Army, during WWII. He was stationed in the Phillipines. Former member of the original Loudoun County Mens Baseball League, Leesburg Team. He served as Past President of the Leesburg Fire Company. Owner and Manager of M& J Auto Body for 33 years. For 14 years, he served as Magistrate for the Commonwealth of Virginia in Loudoun County. Presently, Mr. Moxley was an investor and property manager, with M & J of Loudoun. He was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church. Two of his loves, in addition to his family, were football and baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mrs. Evelyn Lorraine (Flynn) Moxley of Leesburg, his son, Clagett H. Moxley, Jr. of Leesburg, Virginia, a Sister, Dorothy Jewell of Leesburg, Virginia; a Brother, Lester O. Moxley, Sr. of Leesburg, Virginia, Two grandsons, Bryce and Trevor Moxley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Moxley was predeceased by two sisters Pearl and Grace Haskett, and a brother William Moxley.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE 20175, Leesburg, Virginia, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Funeral service will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapels at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 26, 2006, Dr. G. Keith Almond officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia.
