Clyde Franklin Sexton's Obituary
CLYDE FRANKLIN SEXTON, 81 of Leesburg, Virginia passed on Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Herndon, Virginia.
Born Thursday, June 25, 1942, in Dante Virginia he was the son of the late Martin Luther Sexton and Maggie Sexton.
Clyde had a long history of caring for his community. He worked for Loudoun County Parks and Recreation and a local construction company. In 2003, The Town of Leesburg built Freedom Park in Leesburg, Virginia and honored Clyde by naming the football field after him. In 2023, he was presented with the Community Mentor Award in recognition of his service and over 60 years of coaching youth sports.
Clyde leaves many friends and family to cherish his memory including daughter, Jenny Sexton of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren, Tyriek, Katelyn, and Lexie; special friend, Karen “Nan” Evans; and beloved dogs, Riley, Gracie, and Bentlee.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Jean Sexton, as well as his parents; brothers, Buddy, Mac, and George; sister, Vernie; and dog, Teagan.
The family will receive guests for visitation on Tuesday May 28, 2024, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with the Pastor Jeff Good officiating. The internment will be held privately.
Flowers will be accepted but memorial donations may be made in Clyde’s honor to ASPCA.
