I had the pleasure of working with Darlene through our association as Loudoun County employees at the Shenandoah building. She always brightened up my day. We talked regularly alot about our love for travel. Darlene signed me up to work with her family during Christmas in April. A great experience with Darlene and her relatives ! We always had a good time. My thoughts and prayers go out her family. I will miss her contagious smile and laugh.

My deepest sympathy! Diane was a wonderful colleague. Whenever we would run into each other at the County office or maybe in the grocery store, she would always have something encouraging to say. Always wore a smile and could bring light to any place she would be. I was saddened to read the LTM this week and find her obituary. I don't know why, but something this evening gave me the desire to look up online the Loudoun Times Mirror. I've not lived in Loudoun County for many years, yet I do check in once in a while, just to see of what news is in the county, and was most heartbroken to see the sweet, smiling, always thoughtful Darlene a beautiful lady, with whom I shared so many lovely laughs, and thought provoking times. I worked with Darlene in the Loudoun County housing office, many years ago. She is still in my memory to be one of the most cheerful, upbeat, what we gotta do, full of kindness and such good humoured ladies, I've ever worked with, to be honest, I found her love of people inspiring, really. She organized "Christmas gifts" for less fortunate families, had progressive and forthcoming results in the community. A lovely, wonderful woman. I send to you all my heartfelt condolences, and wanted you to know that a person, from Darlenes' past, remembers her with much admiration, and happy memories. I send you love and healing thoughts. Mrs. Johnson was a wonderful steward to so many of the unfortunate citizens of Loudoun County. She was sympathetic without being condescending. She was a wonderful resource; funny, warm, hopeful, and a bright ray in the storm of public service personnel. She always treated me with dignity and compassion, and I will dearly miss her.

My heart is broken. My lifetime friend is gone. Darlene and I grew up together in North Truxton, and she has been my friend and confidante for 50 plus years. Never has there been a sweeter angel on this earth!!! We could always make each other laugh at the most oridinary things in life. We understood each other. My prayers are with this beautiful family, whom she loved so dearly. May God hold you close as you strive to move on without her.
