Darryl Wayne Beans' Obituary
Darryl Wayne Beans, 53, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, passed away on January 20, 2026.
Darryl was born on June 20, 1972, in Leesburg, Virginia, to Patricia Bigden and David W. Beans. He spent much of his life in Northern Virginia and later made his home in Harpers Ferry.
Darryl retired from Fairfax County Public Schools, where he worked for 20 years, his latest position Field Information Systems Technician. He was known for his strong work ethic and technical skill, and he took pride in the work he did throughout his career.
Outside of work, Darryl had many passions. He was a collector of many things and especially enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. He loved building and restoring his Harley and his beloved Model A. He found joy in building things and working with his hands. Hatteras was his happy place, where he loved spending time and relaxing. More than anything, Darryl loved being with his friends and valued the many relationships he formed throughout his life.
Darryl is survived by his wife, Karen Harrison-Beans; his mother, Patricia Bigden; his step-son Jared Leonard; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, David W. Beans. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his friendships, and the way he cared for those around him.
A service will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg, VA on Saturday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be held after the service at Lovettsville Union Cemetery in Lovettsville, Virginia.
