David Coulter's Obituary
David S. Coulter, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lettie Coulter of Berlin, Maryland; three children, Kristen C. Walsh of Ashburn, VA, Steven D. Coulter of Downingtown, PA, and Jennifer A. Coulter of Philadelphia, PA; and six grandchildren ages one month to ten years.
David was born in August 1936 in Upper Darby, PA, to the late Margaret and David Coulter. He was a graduate of Upper Darby High School in 1954 and Drexel University in 1970. David worked for DuPont for thirty-eight years in the Textile and Fibers Division. During his time at DuPont, David and his family were transferred to Geneva, Switzerland for five years. Upon returning to the United States they resided in West Chester, PA for over fifteen years. After retiring from DuPont, David went on to work for Chester County, Raytheon and Verizon. Most recently, David and his wife moved to Berlin, Maryland where David took a course through a grant for senior citizens to learn how to deal cards. David used his new skills as a black jack dealer at Dover Downs.
David was an avid golfer and lover of all sports. He loved the ocean and being anywhere near the water. David's most treasured time was being with his six grand children. He will be missed dearly by all who loved his personable nature, hard work ethic, story-telling and welcoming smile.
Family and friends were invited to a memorial service Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, 130 W. Miner Street, West Chester, Pa. Burial will be Monday, November 4, 2013 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
