David Ray Park's Obituary
Our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, David Ray Park, aged 78, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025. Born on March 1, 1947, in Allen Junction, West Virginia, David was the cherished son of his adoptive parents, Dorothy Montgomery and Lewis Park.
In January 1969, David married the love of his life, the late Teresita Park, beginning a marriage that was defined by devotion, partnership, and family. Together, they built a life rooted in love and compassion.
A proud graduate of Jefferson High School, David enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the young age of 17. His first duty station took him to Subic Bay in the Philippines, where fate brought him to Teresita. He served with distinction during the Vietnam War as a deep-sea diver, later becoming a Petty Officer First Class Signalman aboard several naval vessels. David’s naval career spanned 21 years, a testament to his dedication, discipline, and unwavering sense of duty.
Beyond his service, David was a man of extraordinary empathy and kindness. He had an innate ability to connect with people, offering comfort, understanding, and encouragement to all who knew him.
David had a lifelong passion for music, mastering the trumpet, piano, and many other instruments. His love for music was not just a talent, but a way he expressed his joy and shared his heart with others.
He is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer (Rico), Maria (Robert), and Joanna (Thomas); grandchildren Matthew (Kassy), Kristina (Chris), Bianca (Ton), Gina (Chuck), Carlo (Vicky), Christian, Elisha, and Hezekiah; and great-grandchildren Isaiah, Anastasia, Elijah, Cameron, Chloe, and Rosalyn.
