Dilva Marie Hlavach, née Devescovi
June 8th, 1944 – January 26, 2021
On Tuesday, January 26th, at the most wonderful golden hour of the morning, Dilva Marie Hlavach peacefully passed. Dilva was born on June 8th, 1944 in Rovigno, Italy to Virgilio and Elvia Devescovi who preceded her in death. She was married for 51 years to the late Ronald Hlavach. She is survived by her brother Daniel Devescovi (Ivana), who remembers her as not only his sister but his biggest supporter and best friend. Dilva was the much loved mother of Denise O’Braitis (Bob), Debbie Hlavach (Dan Sage), Jennifer Lewis (Shane) and Daniel Hlavach.
Cherished Mima of Brittany O’Braitis, Madison Johnson (Ryan), Dax and Luke Sage. And beloved Zia Dilva to Valentina Kafcopoulos (Jason), Tiziano Devescovi (Olivia) and Michela Chang (Michael). Adored as “everybody’s Mima”, especially to Abby, Ethan, Mia and Nori.
From Italy to New York, Indonesia to Singapore, Virginia, New Jersey and Georgia -wherever she lived she filled the room with her warm smile and giving heart. She was so passionate about her family, loved her sports, and was the biggest fan for all of her kids and grandkids’ competitions. Who could ever forget her legendary lasagna or her epic Christmas decorations!
The family will host a virtual celebration of life in Dilva’s honor on Sunday January 31st 2021 at 3:30 pm. Family and friends are invited to share a fond memory or message via Zoom: Celebration of Dilva
