Don Matthew Middleton's Obituary
Don Matthew Middleton of Leesburg, Virginia November 9, 1932 - January 31, 2012. Don was a life-long resident of Loudoun County. After graduating from Randolph Macon College where he was member of the debate team, he devoted his 25-year career to the Loudoun County Public School System, first as a teacher and then as an administrator. He was also a director of the Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative where he was known for his leadership abilities.
One of three children of Ben and Sadie Middleton of Arcola and beloved husband of Edith Jones Middleton for over 50 years, Don was raised on a farm in Loudoun County. He owned a cattle farm in Paw Paw, WV where he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. Don touched the lives of many people with his smile, generosity, and trademark sense of humor.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, February 3rd from 7 to 9 pm at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg, VA.
A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4th, at 11 am at Leesburg United Methodist Church, 107 West Market Street, Leesburg, VA 20176. Interment will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, Virginia.
He is survived by his wife Edith and his sister Dorcas Borchardt. Don’s kind and caring nature will forever be remembered by his three sons Robert, Brook and Matthew, daughter-in-laws Deeley & Michele, and treasured grandchildren Ben, Michael and Mary Elizabeth.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be given to the English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Leesburg United Methodist Church, 107 West Market Street, Leesburg, VA 20176.
