Donald Ralph Baucom, Jr., age 54, an accountant at Intermarkets, Inc., passed away at his Sterling, VA, home on Thursday, July 13. His death ended a courageous, eight-month battle with a rare form of cancer. Don was a member of O Read Obituary

To the Baucom family, we were shocked and so saddened to hear this news. Our deepest condolences to your family and Don's friends at the loss of Don. We met Don through Leslie Alnwick and her family in the late '80s - Don was a warm, caring, and positive person, a great guy as others have described. We remember how much he Loved serious biking at that time and hanging out with Brad. On a couple of occasions, he would bike through the old neighborhood in Alexandria years later. He proudly showed my parents pictures of his two children when he ran into them one time. Don will be greatly missed. Eleanora, Elizabeth and Lance, we are so sorry for your loss. Don was a wonderful man, a kind soul and will be missed by all. We were so lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know Don and the family as we were starting our own family as neighbors on Ferguson Court. Don was a very special coworker for so many years at Perpetual/Allbritton Communications. This is sad news as he was so devoted to his family and his work. We were lucky to have known him and worked with him.
