Dear Anita, Sarah, and Mark,
Anne, my wife, and I, neighbors to Don & Anita, express our deepest sympathies on the loss of your husband and your father. Don was a good friend and neighbor and fellow volunteer. I got to know Don as we served together on the Regency at Dominion Valley Emergency Action Group. Don was a faithful member of our group and a strong supporter of preparedness for emergencies and disasters that might threaten our community's residents.
Don was also an accomplished musician and leader of a local community band that volunteered numerous musical performances of a great variety of music throughout our local Prince William County region. I will greatly miss overhearing, and, at one time visiting one of those Tuesday evening rehearsals he hosted in his basement studio. I also extend my sympathy to those musical friends of his who now must, or may go on without him.
I know, also, that Don served his Nation as a member of its protective military. We owe him honor as one who stood on the line to preserve our God-given liberty and America's heritage.
We will greatly miss Donald Raymond Metzger. God rest his soul, and grant him the eternal peace that he has earned. May his Anita and his children and all who knew and loved him be someday rewarded by being with him again.
This part of our world is better because he was here.
Goodbye from a friend,
Bob Lynch
