Donald Lester Price Sr. 's Obituary
Donald Lester Price, Sr., 65, of Manassas, Virginia went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2012 in Manassas. Mr. Price was born July 29, 1946 in Abingdon, VA to the late James and Adeana (Wyatt) Price. As a young man he began his career in funeral service with Farris Funeral Home in Abingdon. After graduating from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he worked with Hoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg, VA and then purchased Sanford-Price Funeral Home in Montross, VA. Mr. Price was in Montross for several years before moving to Manassas, VA in 1984 to open Lee Funeral Home. He co-owned and operated Lee Funeral Home for many years before starting Price Funeral Home in Manassas in 1994. Mr. Price served with Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg during recent years as well as Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville. Mr. Price demonstrated great compassion toward families in their time of need. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather and a caring servant of bereaved families.
Mr. Price is survived by his wife Elena Price of Harrisonburg, VA; five children: Rebecca (Duane) Gary of Baldwinsville, NY, Jennifer (Mark) Frye of Nokesville, VA, Christina (Tom) McKenen of Haymarket, VA, Tracy (Ronnie) Highnote of Warrenton, VA, Donald Price, Jr. of Manassas; adopted daughter, Jennifer Judy; two brothers: Frank Price of Stafford, VA, Wiley Price of Abingdon, VA; the mother of his children: Carol Price of Manassas, his former wife: Deborah Price of Winchester, VA; eight grandchildren: Nikolas, Zachary, Jordan, J’Lynne, Donovan, Ryan, Katelyn and Danielle; two dogs: Junior and Ernie and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Manassas Health and Rehabilitation Center and Evercare Hospice for their caring service.
The family will receive friends at Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church, 7620 Chestnut Street, Manassas, VA 20111 on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm until time of services at 7:00 pm with Pastor Todd Tennant officiating. Entombment services will be at the Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, VA on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church.
