Donald "Jeff" Ball's Obituary
Donald Jeffrey Ball, "Jeff", 67, life long of Loudoun, died peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2007, in the home that he built in Unison, VA.
Born June 24, 1940 in Ashubrn, VA. A son of the late
Jeff was a graduate of Loudoun County High School. He served his country in the US Marines from 1960 to 1966, stationed in Portsmouth, Maine, he served as a Prison Guard. He also served on the USS Valley Forge during the Cuban Missle Crisis in 1962.
He was a Brick Mason by trade and Coached Ladies Softball in Loudoun County for many years.
Jeff was predeceased by his wife Betty Wagner Ball in 2006 and two brothers, Sonny and Jay Ball.
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his four children, Sandy (Ball) Orrison of Sterling, VA, Sally (Ball) Dellinger of Hamilton, VA, Frank Shugars of Ashburn, VA, Pat (Ball) Shugars of St. Michaels, MD;
Siblings, Judy Rinker of Winchester, Doug Ball of Winchester, Lois Saunders of Hillsboro, and Michael Ball of Winchester, and a brother-in-law-George A. "Buddy" Wagner of Leesburg, ten grandchildren, Stephen, Shannon, and Stefanie Dellinger, and Samantha Blair, Travis, and Sarah Orrison, and Ryan and Kyle Shugars, and Morgan and Kendra Shugars.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE 20175, Leesburg, Virginia, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, October 7, 2007. Funeral service will be held at Purcellville Baptist Church 221 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville, VA, at 2:00 PM Monday, October 8, 2007 . Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Bloomfield, Virginia. Donations may be made in Jeff''s memory to Capital Hospice PO Box 1576 Merrifield, VA 22116-1576, or to Purcellville Baptist Church, Building Fund, 221 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville, VA.
