Dora George's Obituary
DORA ELEANOR GEORGE, 71, a resident of Sterling, VA since 1965, died on Monday January 21, 2008 in Sterling. Mrs. George was born April 20, 1936 in West Milford, WV to the late Ashby and Helen Harris Wolfe. Her husband of 47 years Mr. Donzel William George also predeceased her in 2002. Mrs. George was a mailer with the Washington Post for 20 years before her retirement in 1999, she also volunteered with various charities including the Salvation Army, LINK and Habitat for Humanity. Mrs. George was an active member of the Sterling United Methodist Church and loved spending time and taking part in her grandchildren’s lives.
Mrs. George is survived by her three children: Donzel William George II of Sterling, VA, David Lee George of Clarksville, MD, Daphne Anne Burke of South Riding, VA; two brothers: Thomas Wirt Wolfe of Baton Rough, LA, Ashby Anderson Wolfe of Upperville, VA, Pamela Helen Watson of Morgantown, WV; five grandchildren: Rachel, Jessica, Joshua George all of Clarksville, MD and Aaron and Ryan Burke of South Riding, VA.
Friends may call at the Sterling United Methodist Church, 304 East Church Road Sterling, VA on Friday January 25, 2008 6 – 8 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am on Saturday January 26, 2008 at the church with Pastor Randy Duncan officiating.
Interment will be private.
